When does the reservation have to be paid?
After your reservation you will receive a confirmation by email within 24 hours. Are you booking 1 month or less before your holiday? Then you immediately pay the full rental price. Are you booking more than a month before your holiday? Then you pay 30% of the rental price when booking. You pay the remaining part one month before departure. The total rental price includes 20% for the rent of the movable property (furniture) and 80% for the immovable property (building).
What are the cancellation conditions?
For cancellations up to one month before departure, 30% of the rental price (the advance) will be charged. For subsequent cancellations, 100% of the rental price will be charged.
What time can we check in and do we have to check out?
Check-in is possible from 4 p.m. If you would like to come earlier, please let me know. This will usually be possible, but not always. Felix De Haan has a key box, so no stress about having to arrive at a certain time. Check-out: before 10 am.
Is there parking at the apartment?
The apartment has a garage, but not for parking a car. But parking in De Haan is free everywhere. You can park for free and unlimited on the street of the apartment, on both sides of the street. If possible, you can always park in front of my garage (brown gate, at number 7). There is also a large parking lot a 5-minute walk away where you can park for free all day (or your entire stay). The entrance to the car park is next to the Erly chip shop (via Google Maps: Parking De Haan aan zee). Please note: you can also park for free in the main streets, but only for an hour with your parking disc.
Is there somewhere safe to store our bicycles?
Yes, there is no room for a car in the garage, but there is room for bicycles, strollers, scooters, ...
Are pets allowed?
No, pets are not allowed.
How many people can sleep in the apartment?
The maximum occupancy of the apartment is 4 people (maximum 3 adults). Felix De Haan has 1 double bed and 1 bunk bed.
Can we rent bicycles?
You can rent bicycles at Catrysse, 400 meters from Felix.
Are there shops nearby?
Sure! And these are all accessible on foot. The Delhaize supermarket is behind the corner, as are Staelens bakery and several other shops.
How far is it walking to the beach?
De Haan Beach is 1 km from Felix De Haan. It takes about 15 minutes on foot. Felix De Haan also has a hand cart. Children with tired legs can be transported comfortably in it!
Is there an elevator in the building?
No, the apartment is on the first floor.
Is there a baby cot and high chair available?
Yes, they are both present. Please let us know in advance if you want to use this (free).
Are bath and bed linen provided?
Yes, all beds are made upon arrival and I provide 1 large and 1 small towel per person. Dishcloths are also provided in the kitchen. No linen is changed during the stay.
What is available in the kitchen?
There is a refrigerator (with freezer compartment), a hob, oven, Senseo coffee machine (+ pods), kettle and a dishwasher. All the obvious kitchen utensils, crockery, cutlery and glasses are at your disposal.
Is there WiFi?
Yes, in Felix De Haan you can use WiFi for free.
Can I arrive by public transport?
Yes, that is perfectly possible. By train it is best to get off in Ostend. There take the coastal tram towards Knokke. Get off at the De Haan aan zee stop (8th stop). This stop is a 6-minute walk from Felix.
Can I smoke in the apartment?
Smoking in the apartment is strictly prohibited. Smoking is allowed on the terrace.
Does a deposit have to be paid?
No, giving trust is gaining trust. If something breaks during your stay, please be honest and let me know.
